Your state on Rules and Record
Links to each state's special education page and discipline page on Rules and Record, which quotes the state's own sources with the date it checked them. This manual copies nothing from those pages.
Rules and Record is a Field Assembly site with one page per state and DC. Each page is built from the state's own first-party sources, quotes them with the source's date and the date it was retrieved, and keeps a change log; its method is on its about page.
This manual restates no state's rules and copies nothing from those pages, because states revise their documents and a copy here would go stale. Open your state's page, read it, and copy what you need into your state sheet with the date you read it (Your state's rules shows how).
- Special education page: the state's dispute routes and offices, the parent centers its notice lists, the languages its sources are published in, timelines as the state's sources state them, and a source map with dates. Its index notes that it applies to a student with an IEP or a Section 504 plan.
- Discipline page: the state's rules on school discipline for every student, including notice and hearings before an exclusion and appeal routes. Each links back to its special education page (discipline index).

A Rules and Record page states what the state's sources say as of the date the page gives; check that date on the page. It determines nothing about your child, gives no advice and calculates no deadline, and neither does this manual. Which procedure applies to your situation is for your state's offices, the parent center listed on your state page, or an attorney to say. Your school district may add its own policies within what the state allows; ask the district in writing.
